"Rodeo doesn't get much wilder than a typical ranch rodeo," Groves writes. And, "Wild cow milking is one of the more dangerous events in a ranch rodeo; pasture cattle tend to have...a cranky disposition." There is: "Equipment and Clothing" and "How to Become a Saddle Bronc Rider," for example.Groves writes clearly and comprehensively, never talking down to her audience. Loaded with lots of great b&w photos, this is a fine book for the beginning rodeo fan, the occasional attendee who'd like to learn more, or just the curious. Because it is put together so well, it would also make a great gift.
