Like the headline says. Plus, it's the Lumberjanes, just read it!

The kids in our after school program (2nd-5th grade) ALL love these books. We have had to buy multiple copies due to wear and tear, they are so well loved.

Definitely better than volume 9 (which I gave 3 stars) but not as good as volumes 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8 (which I gave 5 stars). On par with volumes 5 and 6. My main issue i tend to have with the later volumes is that Noelle Stevenson is no longer head writer, and she was a very talented story teller and dialog creater. All of the volumes she wrote (1-4) where incredible! However that doesn’t mean that the story isn’t still good, just less consistently good. It was a solid comic but not quite as good as the classic lumberjanes. I would still recommend picking this one up though, it gets more or less back on track with the larger story and it’s really fun to see all of the characters familyies! The plot isn’t incredible and the dialog isn’t as good, and I personally didn’t care for the art so much I’m this one, but it’s still lumberjanes and it’s still great!

Initially, we borrowed this book from the library. My son really liked the narration and presentation of the details. Then, we decided to buy this book for our small library at home. When reading to the kids, dramatize as much as you can (illustrations in the book really help). My son now has decided to read it to his class in school.

What a great treatment of the early days of the nation! The author does a remarkable job of conveying accurate historical information about the formation of the United States, with hilarious illustrations and lively text. Well done. Recommended for all ages -- adults may learn something too!

Fun, fun fun. Sure we have heard of the Articles of Confederation and the Virginia Compromise and the New Jersey Plan, but who really remembers much about them? This book could help lots of kids (and adults, on occasion) better understand how our system of government came about.After the war for independence, there really wasn't much of a United States of America. There were just thirteen separate states. Problems. One big problem was money. Each state printed its own. States wouldn't accept the money of other states. And who would fight for these thirteen separate states? Finally, fifty-five men came together from twelve states (no Rhode Island) to figure things out and the result was the amazing Constitution of the United States. It still works today because of the brilliance and cooperation of those who met together to create this document.Cold hard facts are the text of this book, but it is the fun illustrations that really explain and expound upon the the subject. It is the illustrations that kept me reading along. Very kid friendly. And for a subject that can be way over the heads of many ten year olds.An afterword explains the process of the Constitution in detail as does a notes section that expands upon the most complicated parts of the book in a clever question-answer format. The book also includes a web link to the Constitution with an invitation to read the document for oneself and a lengthy bibliography.

This book is a playful comic book style introduction to the political process that resulted in the development of the Constitution of the United States. It adeptly explains how the state delegates met to discuss the problems created when thirteen separate state governments, each with their own rules and monetary system try to trade with one another. Representatives of five states agree to convene another meeting to discuss creating a form of federalized government to enable them to trade more easily. Dialog balloons enable the interjection of amusing fictionalized comments expressed during the process. Here's what I like about the Holt textbooks in general (as well as this one in particular):1. Pretty widespread adoption. As a teacher and tutor, I need books that have problems and/or example types that my students are familiar with. Holt's in enough classrooms (at least in CA) that a lot of students are already familiar with their general layout/format.2. Nice examples -- they have a nice spread of examples that are worked out through each chapter, with pretty detailed explanations (why did they choose these numbers as the factors? Why wouldn't something else work, etc)3. Clearly laid out practice that has a mix of word, multiple choice and straight-forward, variables-only/skills-only.So, why isn't this a 5-star review?While I like Holt better than the Saxons of the world (where they split every concept into a "lesson" and are harder to navigate, I lie the McDogall/Littel Algebra books a little better because I think they provide more word problems, as well as larger practice sections (which don't HAVE to be assigned, but which are good as problem banks for students struggling with a particular concept).

I thought I was receiving the 2007 edition instead it is 1986. They need to make clear what year and or edition it is. Now I have a book that is of no use to me.

This book not only provides the answers to the student textbook, it does a good job of explaining how the answers are reached. And I really appreciate the online help provided by Holt as well. It is worth every cent to have the Teacher's edition along with the regular text unless you excel at math.

I would give 5 stars for the product I recieved for less money but they gave me the Texas Edition. The information did not say Texas edition. I know there is minor differences but my OCD don't like the picture and state standard testing differences from the Teacher's Edition and the Student edition.

This is my first ever three star review of this author. I adore Katie West, and her books are just the right kind of escapism for me. Which is why I found myself surprisingly uninterested in most of the plot here. I loved the premise: movie set, sabotage, romance, what’s not to like? But it just felt like nothing ever really HAPPENED. The sabotage plot doesn’t even come to light until more than halfway through, it’s just perceived by everyone as accidents or bad luck. Then once Lacey begins to suspect people, there’s remarkably little done with it. It felt like a pointless side note.One of my favorite aspects of Ms. West’s novels is the romance between the two mains. It’s, without fail, adorable, and Ms. West is skilled at writing dreamy male love interests. And therein lies my second disappointment. Donovan was rather lackluster. He wasn’t bad, but he felt flat. The crackling tension usually felt between the mains was absent. Which is somewhat ironic, given that Lacey’s big concern is a lack of chemistry between she and her costar.I’m still a big fan, and am anxiously awaiting Maybe This Time, but I real,y hope it delivers more on its promise than this one did.

Kasie West is a fantastic YA writer. I found this book to be a whole lot different than what I was expecting. Lacie is a really big personality and she had the potential to just be annoying, but I thought the author created a great character--strong, but extremely vulnerable. Even Grant with all his self-love was a fun character. I felt like everyone was true to life and the zombie movie setting was extremely fun with lots of laughs. I did feel like there was a lot of mystery building and that part fell a little flat-no real nefarious intentions. But that is why I knocked a star off-the mystery angle just seemed to fizzle quickly after all the build.Content: CleanLanguage: CleanReligious: NoHappy reading!!

Just like all of her other books I finished Fame, Fate, and the First Kiss in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down! The characters are fun and the romance is oh so swoon worthy! I loved the this novel centered around Lacy Barnes who was a side character in Love, Life and the List and that we got to see some of our favorite characters make an appearance! My advanced fiction writing professor once told us that we should write our minor characters like they will become main characters in another book and that’s exactly what West has done! I really enjoyed the mystery aspect of this book it was really fun to guess who was sabatoging Lacy!100% recommend!

Kasie West books are always a perfect fit for this genre. The dialogue between Lacey and the other characters, especially the love interest is cute and fun. I also was intrigued by the little mystery in the book and wasn’t sure who was sabatoging the movie. If you like YA contemporary Romance or any other Kasie West novel, you will enjoy this book

I just love Kasie West! I love that I can just sit back, relax, and lose myself in the little worlds she creates. I hate when the book is over and I have to wait for the next one!

I love all of Kasie’s books. I am so happy and amazed at how many books she is able to release in short amounts of time. This one centers around Lacey, who was introduced in Love, Life, and the List. Abby and Cooper also make an appearance, which was sweet! I wanted to pace myself, but of course I finished it in two days. Loved it!

I really enjoyed this novel! West has a way of capturing you and pulling you into the story! I also really like it when she connects two books, but you can read them in any order. What I mean is that she occasionally has characters from other books that make an appearance in her stories, like in this one! Definitely recommend!

Absolutely adored this book! Whenever I’m in a slump, Kasie West books are my go to! And this one did not disappoint! And after I read them, my daughter reads them! So they are good for young teens and adults who love a little cheese factor.
